Foody weekend

I'm recovering from a fairly full on weekend, I think I am still within points, by the very skin of my teeth. However, I've eaten out a lot so it's all random guestimates and I could be way off. The moment of truth will come tomorrow I guess.

On Friday night we saw the very funny Micky Flanagan in Reading which cheered me right up after a stressy work day, there is a lot to be said for Live Comedy. We went for a quick Indian beforehand (Matt's birthday, therefore his choice) and although I ordered Chicken Saag from the menu (mild apparently), it contained something that completely blew my head off. I think I had 2 spoonfuls and I was literally rendered speechless so that was the end of my pigging out.  A blessing in disguise perhaps.

Saturday was a  bit of a lazy day, although I did spend a good few hours clearing out the kitchen in preparation for it's removal today. I managed a little bit of exercise (2 whole activity points, pah!) and tried to exist on as little food as possible as I wanted to enjoy myself at the Royal Oak. The food was lovely, obviously not the cheapest place since it's a Michelin Starred fancy pants pub, but not too extortionate either. I'd definitely go back for a special occasion.

I couldn't resist taking a few photos of the food to share - you lucky people!

Scotch Egg - amazing.

Chicken Liver and Foie Gras Parfait with Toasted Brioche - Gorgeous

Potted Crab for Matt - he said it was lovely but I couldn't taste since shellfish causes my head to explode.

Lamb Cutlet and Braised Shoulder with Kale and Champ - delicious

Oxtail and Kidney Pie for Matt - not a fan of Kidney myself but he loved this...

Yorkshire Rhubarb Trifle - not bad. Probably the most disappointing thing we ordered - Matt's Butterscotch Pudding was heavenly.

All in all, a delicious meal if not overly points friendly. Thankfully, I was driving so I only had a small thimble of wine. I was able to eat all of my points instead of drinking half of them for once :)

Yesterday was another lunch out, but I skipped breakfast and had celeriac chips for dinner. I also ran up the hill a couple of times - almost caused me to develop asthma I am sure. I am far too unfit. Next plan of action for that is to rejoin a gym. Watch this space.

By my guestimating, I had around 35 points for lunch (poached salmon to start, Roast Rib of Beef for main and half a rhubarb bread and butter pudding for dessert - and some Prosecco). I'll say I had all of my points however as I just don't know.

I really don't know what tomorrow will bring, but the main thing is, I am much more aware of my choices and making slightly better ones where I can. I know I am not going to lose massive amounts of weight at the moment given my social life is fairly ridiculous, but if I can manage to maintain at least on the weeks I have a lot on, I'll be fairly happy. This week will be really testing. At 0930 this morning, our entire kitchen was in the car park. I am going to have to exist on sandwiches and shop bought salads for a few days I think. Matt has cleverly gotten himself off to Athens with work, no Pot Noodles for him.

Thanks

Thank you all for you advice on my last post, you all totally rock and I really appreciate you taking time to comment.

I sent a text to my sister and she responded, so I am going to behave as normal and have let her know I am here if she needs me. Thankfully (according to my mother) she is feeling a bit more positive now she knows why she is feeling so down and has made the first steps towards getting help.

So, Matt's birthday today, which means a weekend of food ahead. I've 2 good days under my belt and all of my flex points still available, plus I've pencilled in a long walk (ok, probably not long by most people's standards, but around 3-4 miles, which may well finish me off in my current lethargic state) for tomorrow. Fingers crossed I don't get caught stuffing the Thornton's Toffee Birthday Cake I purchased him, down my neck in the middle of the night.

Very much looking forward to our trip to The Royal Oak tomorrow, I am going to eat nothing but fruit and veg all day in preparation (I am driving so can't do too much damage on the booze front).

Have lovely weekend's y'all. Keep being amazing xx

Dealing with depression

I need advice all you wise people out there. My baby sister (who got married at the end of last year) has been diagnosed with Depression. I'll be honest here, I am completely ignorant of this and how it can impact someone. My initial reaction (once again, completely ignorant) was "What does she have to be depressed about?" but I realise it's not something she can control or necessarily something that is guided by an incident as such. I understand it's an illness, I'm just a bit in the dark.

My issue is, I don't really know how to approach her. I called her last night for a chat - asked her how she was (as I would always when I speak to someone) and she burst into tears, told me I couldn't possibly understand and hung up... I'll admit, I felt totally put out by her reaction and a little bit frustrated, which I realise is not helpful at all, so my question is, what do I do?

Do I leave her alone and find out how she is through my mother, or do I text her and tell her I am here if she wants to talk, or do I try calling her again? I just don't know what to do for the best. I realise I can't really help her, but I don't want her to think I don't give a monkeys chuff. I feel out of my depth as I am totally unaware of how she is feeling. I'm also worried about my mother, as she is really worried about my sister. Ho hum, it's a difficult one.

Anyway, in other news, a fairly good day for me yesterday on the food front. I stuck to the plan all day - yes all day. Wonders will never cease. My friend cooked the amazing Jamie Oliver 30 minute steak sandwich last night with celeriac chips (super tasty, I thought I hated the stuff because I cannot abide celery, but whaddya know, it's actually nice, that thing that resembles a brain in my fridge may actually get used now). 39/41 points used.... but we'll say 41 just in case.

Today should be fairly straight forward top. Visiting another friend tonight and she is doing Pizza with Salad, so I guess I load up on salad and try to limit the Pizza intake... that's the theory anyway. Hopefully another day on plan in the bag. Happy dance.

I can see this in 2 different ways....

  1. I've put 3 pounds back on since the dreaded Norovirus incident - or -
  2. I've lost a pound really....
So, at my last weigh in, I was 4 pounds down, mainly due to projectile vomiting and not having eaten for 4 days. Last night, I was 3 pounds up from that, so I am seeing it as I've lost a pound. Seems a bit more of a positive outlook. What this has done, however, is give me that much needed kick. I'm 1.5 stone heavier than I was early last year and it's just not good enough. I know I can do this if I put my somewhat stubborn mind to it, so I am going to give it a shot. I NEED to get back on the exercise wagon. That starts at lunchtime today with a somewhat soggy walk (drizzle is surely the worst kind of rain). I've a fairly ridiculous week ahead of me, but I've agreed to send my leader my trackers every day - it might help me make slightly better choices if nothing else.

Matt and I have also decided to do our own 'Biggest Loser' competition. We are both going to weigh in every week and whoever loses the least will stick a tenner in a pot - if we both fail to lose, we both put in. If we fail miserably at weight loss, at least we'll have a nice pot of money to spend on holiday, but hopefully we'll both be a bit slimmer as well.

So between now and my next weigh in, I have the following to contend with:

Tonight - dinner at a friend's house in Twickenham. I know what she is cooking so I have planned today accordingly.
Tomorrow - dinner at another friend's house in Wokingham. She mentioned pizza, so I will eat lightly tomorrow in order to compensate.
Friday - Matt's birthday, dinner at Wagamama before seeing Micky Flanagan live. My favourite is Chicken Katsu Curry and from nutritional info I found online it works out at 13 PP from one website and 20 PP from another - I'll maybe go somewhere in the middle if I opt for that! (Unless anyone knows of any good choices?)
Saturday - Matt's birthday dinner at the Royal Oak (I hope we see Parky)
Sunday - Sunday Lunch with friends
Monday - kitchen is ripped out - exist on Pot Noodles for a week.

Phew.

Weekend plodding

I continue with my plodding, I know I am not 100% focussed but I've definitely not lost the plot. I seem to be eating well about 75% of the time. I just hope that other 25% isn't enough to cause me much damage. I guess I will find out on Tuesday!

Friday night we went to see the brilliantly funny Jason Manford in Reading which was just what the doctor ordered. I'd had a rubbish day at work and Matt was really stressed, so a lot of humour was definitely much needed. We grabbed a quick dinner beforehand in Bill's - I ordered Halloumi and Hummus, left the bun and most of the chips so it wasn't too hideous.

Saturday morning I was up bright and early to prepare dinner for us and 4 of Matt's mates who were coming round that evening. In the 3 years Matt has lived in the flat, he's not entertained at all so it was a bit of an occasion! I was trying to go for easy options as we had leaving drinks to attend during the afternoon, so I prepared Leek and Potato Soup, Lasagne and home made garlic bread, which just left me a salad to sort when we got back from Brentford.

One of my friends is leaving the South to move back up North to Hull with her family. I will miss her a lot, but I can totally understand why they want to move. They've sold their 2 bedroomed flat in London and have bought a 5 bedroomed house in Hull - mortgage free. Makes me wonder why I live down here sometimes! We attended their leaving drinks during the afternoon (I did have a few sausage rolls and a samosa, but that was it!) but I drove so I couldn't do too much damage with booze. It was lovely to catch up with a lot of friends I've not seen in a long while. Much laughter and some tears, but I'll definitely be making trips up North to see her.

Saturday night, was probably a points disaster, although I didn't actually eat too much as I was too busy worrying about everyone else. I did however drink far too much Prosecco! I am generally not a bad cook, but I always doubt my abilities when I am cooking for others. Clean plates all round however, so there weren't any complaints.

We had a couple of friends stay over that night, so yesterday morning we went to the local greasy spoon for breakfast. Sometimes nothing else will do when you have a hangover. I did manage to counterbalance the grease by sticking to Salad and Fruit for the rest of the day - plus we walked the mile or so there and back - not enough exercise I know, but it's a start.

So all in all, I am still plodding. I am still aware of my choices and still trying to be as good as I can. I don't expect to lose much weight until I sort out my mindset, but so long as I don't gain, I'll be happy. I'm still 3 stone down from where I started, so to undo that hard work would be a bloody disgrace.

Plodding

Thank you all for taking the time to comment yesterday, you really do help me come to my senses.

I think I've been getting myself too focussed on the 'if it's not broken, don't fix it' philosophy - as in, I am not unhappy, so why change? I've been doing some form of diet (unsuccessfully, obviously since I am still fat) for most of my adult life, sometimes, you just get a bit sick of constantly having to think about it. Sometimes, it would be nice to not think about what I should be eating and just eat what the hell I want.

BUT, I am fat and if I don't think about it, I will end up with the scenario you mentioned Peridot, where I will have to be winched from my bed by an industrial strength crane and possibly start to suffer some serious health issues.

So, I will keep plodding along. I'll keep tracking, I'll probably still struggle along the way, but hopefully I'll not end up the size of a house end in the near future - who knows, I might even slim down a bit. And then God help me, I'll probably be pretty unbearable then.

Happy weekends y'all.

what if I just don't want this enough....

I was thinking yesterday (quite a painful process at times which I try to avoid mostly) about why I seem to be failing miserably at this weight loss business and I can only conclude that I maybe don't want this enough. I was working from home - and despite having a ridiculously busy and stressy workload, I still found myself often in the kitchen looking for titbits. The fridge is pitiful at the moment and the freezer and cupboard stores are somewhat depleted (11 days til the new kitchen begins) so thankfully I couldn't do too much damage, but my choices yesterday were somewhat suspect.

Breakfast - 2 sausages (found lurking in freezer) with 2 potato cakes (also found in the freezer)
Lunch - Goats cheese and caramelised onion Pasta (freezer) with extra cheese on top (not needed at all) and sun dried tomatoes (lurking at back of fridge)
6 o'clock ish - 3 Chocolate Digestives whilst holding baby William at my friend's house, plus numerous cups of tea. (why not just the 1??)
Dinner - 2 Bird's Eye Fish Cakes with Potato Gratin and creamed spinach (completely random assortment of foods) followed by a dessert made from tofu, peanut butter and agave syrup blended together (I never eat dessert).

8 points over for the day on a right random assortment of crap.

So I am wondering what the hell is going on with me. I can only conclude I am not focussing completely, because maybe it's just not that important to me at the moment. But, why? Here is what I came up with....

  1. I don't have a negative self image at all - in fact I am probably guilty of being a little bit too fond of myself so that probably doesn't make me feel the need to change. I don't see a 'fat' person when I look in the mirror. Edit - I even took a photo of myself today (below) to try and prove to myself that I am fat - it didn't work. I have a warped self image!
  2. I have never experienced 'thin' so I can't envisage how much of an impact it will have on me if I ever actually shed some of the lard. I don't lack confidence at all, so what difference will being thin have on me?
  3. I have thin friends who never eat and are constantly critical of themselves. They berate themselves if they even inhale a piece of chocolate. I don't want to be like that. I don't want to go out for dinner and push a salad around a plate for fear of gaining a pound.
  4. I have an inability not to spend money and my wardrobe and drawers are currently massively overflowing with clothes - I can't imagine how bad I'd be if I could just shop anywhere.
Am I making really poor excuses?

The only reason I can think of for losing weight is that it's really not healthy being this weight and even then I struggle with that given I generally (except for the recent dysentery) don't suffer too many ailments. Thin people I know seem to pick up every cold, sniffle and bug (perhaps a massive generalisation) although maybe their insides are in a lot better shape than mine.

I think I've been on this journey for so long, I've totally forgotten why it's important. Can anyone give me a push in the right direction? I'm not about to give up (I won't go and stuff my face with cream cakes at lunchtime as an act of rebellion), but I definitely need to refocus. Help!

Senior moments

I worry about myself at times. I get weighed on a Tuesday - 1830 every week. Yesterday was Tuesday, was it not? Yesterday, I dressed in my lightest clothes, I ate a light lunch, I did the things I usually do on a Tuesday - except I left work and I came home and I completely forgot to get weighed. I mean, how on earth? I had a feeling I had forgotten to do something, but it wasn't until I was half way through watching the Brits when my leader texted me to say she'd missed me, that it dawned on me what I had forgotten to do. I think my subconscious is battling me.

So, the upshot is, I have no idea if I have lost weight or not, or if I've gained a little bit after rediscovering my appetite post Dysentery.

I certainly ate a 'hearty' Valentine's Meal on Monday night - Chicken Liver Parfait, Fillet of Beef with Tarragon Potato Cake and Treacle Tart.... all washed down with a lot of Prosecco, but I'd eaten only soup before that.... So who knows really. Anyway, back at it today. Sometimes I am too blonde for my own good.

Ho-hum.

Boredom eating

I've had a much longed for quiet weekend with no plans... and I found myself fairly bored by yesterday. I am just not very good at doing very little. Unfortunately for me, boredom tends to mean food, a habit I clearly need to change.

Saturday was a lovely day, so we went shopping and then for lunch to a lovely pub near the river. I opted for Pea and Mint soup, which filled me up completely (I am liking this shrunken stomach business). Lovely pub, but flipping expensive (soup for me, panini and chips for Matt - £17!). I had wanted to go for a walk, but West Brom were playing (and Matt is obsessed) so we had to head home for him to listen to them losing a 3 goal lead which had him in a lovely mood. Football, huh?

I spent the rest of the weekend pottering around the flat, clearing out cupboards and cooking up batches of soup to see me through the week. I've now got a fridge full of Spiced Parsnip and Broccoli and Blue Cheese Soup which should suffice for lunches.

Not overly sure how WI will be tomorrow. The start of the week was really low on points, but I think I made up for it over the weekend. I ate too much yesterday, I actually only had one 'proper' meal. Slow cooked pork with Mash last night, but I spent the day picking at bits which I clearly didn't need. I also ate a fair few truffles and drank more than my fair share of Prosecco in the name of Romance. Any excuse.

Matt was working for most of the day, so I was attempting to entertain myself without spending money. I decided to go for a walk, stepped outside, got completely drenched and then stomped back into the flat. My foray back into the world of exercise was completely short lived. Must try harder.

Tonight we are off to Mya Lacarte for dinner, I don't usually care too much about Valentine's Day, but Matt booked a table and bought me some lovely tulips (my favourite flowers) so I guess I should indulge the old Romantic. (Plus with true female logic, I'd have been well annoyed if he'd have done nothing!)

Can't see me being overly diet friendly tonight (not handy the night before WI), but I'm sticking to soup for lunch so maybe I won't be too bad.

Happy Valentine's Day all x

Little to report

I am hopeful this week will continue to remain a good one. I kind of have my appetite back, but an inability to eat as much as I usually do which I am finding completely odd. Maybe Norovirus was a blessing in disguise.

Yesterday, I upped my intake of that good bacteria stuff. Those really annoying Martine McCutcheon adverts are enough to put you off, but I swear by it  after a bad stomach episode and the Activia yoghurt snack pots are a bargainous 2 points.

I also realised how completely unfit I have become due to my inactivity of late - hoovering the flat should not lead to profuse perspiration. I reckon I am ok now to get back on with a bit of movement post procedure, so weather permitting, a long walk is planned for the weekend. Seriously, this weather is beyond miserable at the moment.

I made home made pizza's last night, which were delicious - and actually so much nicer than proper greasy takeaways, I must remember this in future. So, a 16 point dinner - followed by a slice of homemade cake (Chocolate, Raspberry and Rhubarb - delicious and only 4 points a slice, very much made up and chucked together recipe below, I am trying to empty the cupboards and freezer) and I still couldn't eat my full 41 points. I am getting closer though, only 7 left over yesterday.

Fairly sure there will be no trauma eating them all today - had to take my car in for an airbag check this morning and I absent mindedly ate 3 biscuits whilst waiting - 5 PP gone. Why do I do that? Anyway, for once, I have absolutely no plans for the weekend so it should be fairly uneventful and lacking in damage.

Hope you all have a  marvellous weekend. Shame they aren't longer.

Chocolate, Raspberry and Rhubarb Cake - serves 12 at 4 PP each.

  • 200g spelt flour
  • 100g of sugar
  • 50g Skinny Cow hot chocolate
  • 4 tablespoons of hot chocolate  (probably didn't need this too but I had it left)
  • 2 eggs
  • Tablespoon Lurpak lighter
  • 2 tablespoons of Agave
  • Few handfuls of defrosted raspberries and rhubarb

Mix it all together, hope for the best. Cook on a fairly low heat until the middle is no longer runny. I could write a cook book really....

Things I learnt yesterday

  1. I really, really don't like coriander and have no idea why I thought carrot and coriander soup was a good idea for my first 'proper' meal. I need to stay away from Orange foodstuffs - as if the lucozade through the nose episode wasn't enough to warn me off (I can still smell it now!)
  2. When you've not eaten for days, your stomach doesn't 'alf shrink. A bowl of soup and half a toasted bagel will leave you stuffed to the point of discomfort for the entire day.
So, I am actually feeling back to normal today. Hooray! That blooming Norovirus is one evil son of a biatch. Heaven help you if you are suffering. I started back pointing yesterday, but after a pitiful amount of food (seriously strange for me that I actually just didn't want to eat....) I was resorting to drinking full 'fat' Dr Pepper in an attempt to get some calories in me. I came in with 20 points to spare, but it was progress. I am not sure I will have such trouble today!

Working from home today as we have a leaky toilet (seriously bad timing with the state I have been in) so I am expecting a plumber sometime between 8am-6pm. That's a very handy timeframe, no doubt I'll stay in all bloody day and he'll rock up at 6pm. At least that means I won't be off out in town buying myself pies and cakes to make up for my recent lack of intake.

On that note, I am off to see what delights the freezer has to offer today. Fish cakes and peas for breakfast probably...

Tuesday, 8 February 2011

Things I've learnt today

1. Just because you've been throwing up for days and nothing has passed your lips, don't see it as a miracle weight loss tool. You will lose 4 pounds and feel cheated. Ridiculously so.

2. Don't go back to work because you're bored of your own company, you are still not very well and will therefore puke Lucozade out of your nose. People will dislike you for bringing germs into the office.

3. Lucozade is not enough to sustain you after 3 days without food and you will therefore feel faint and possibly make a right prat out of yourself whilst having a hot flush and having to hastily derobe. Beware of loose fitting vests whilst derobing as you may show a bit more than you'd like.

4. Only chicken soup will do.

That is all.

A weekend of extremes

Hope you all had lovely weekends. Mine was a bit of a mixture. Saturday started bright and early with a trip to Birmingham to see Matt's Mom and Stepdad. We got the train around 10am from Reading and arrived in Birmingham just before 12. Bacon sarnie and a skinny Hazelnut latte en route, followed by a not overly healthy steak pie in the pub (I didn't eat the chips if that helps). We spent a few hours with Matt's parents before having a wander around Selfridges - it's a good job there is not one closer to me, I'd be forever in the Food Hall!

We got the train back around 1630 and then headed straight round to Matt's friend's flat for a belated Burn's Night supper. There was a lot of food on offer - breaded Brie to start, Haggis, Neeps and Tatties, followed by Cranachan (so not diet friendly) all washed down with a lot of Wine.

A lot of Haggis:

I left there feeling incredibly full and bloated and wishing I would learn!

Sunday saw me learning somewhat! I awoke fairly early feeling quite sick and presumed it was because I had over eaten on Saturday. How wrong I was. I then spent the next 48 hours projectile vomiting, rushing to the loo and generally feeling like a bus had hit me (every part of my body ached and my head felt like it was exploding). A lovely dose of Norovirus, thanks very much.

I've spent the last 2 days in bed fending for myself - Matt is away with work, for which I have cursed him somewhat :) Back to work today and not entirely sure what WI will bring me tonight - I expect a loss, but not a deserved one.

Onwards and downwards...

Battle of the buffet and Krispy Kreme's

I am fairly sure my office is going all out to sabotage me. Every day this week, there have been visitors in the board room - and without fail, they have left most of their buffet lunch which has then been wheeled out into the office for the rest of us to share.

Buffet's are the work of the devil when you are lacking self control. On the plus side, I managed to stock up on a lot of fruit - apples, bananas and plums have been my friends. Mini Onion Bhaji's, Mini Cheese Muffins and Kettle Chips, have been my foe's. I could have resisted all of these things once, but every bloody day? Lord help me. This was coupled with some of the team bringing in home made Chocolate Brownies and yesterday, box upon box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts for another colleagues birthday.

Still, I managed to satisfy myself with a tiny amount of the food and a lot of the fruit and not do too much damage. I also managed to have a Krispy Kreme doughnut (6 points for a glazed ring - not bad really) yesterday as well as dinner at my friend's house (macaroni cheese - it's a conspiracy) and stay *just* within my points. Phew.

We are staying in tonight, so I intend to cook something relatively points friendly (steak with veggies perhaps) and have a nice glass or two of wine. Tomorrow we are off to Brum for a few hours to see Matt's Mom and Step dad for lunch and then back to see friend's for a belated Burn's night supper - a bit of planning is required for tomorrow to make sure I don't blow all of my points at lunchtime.

Sunday will be a day of rest - I may even think about doing some exercise... steady on girl.

Hope you all have positively lovely weekends.

Meh

Yesterday was one of those days. I felt really 'Meh' and completely out of sorts. Matt was flying off to Dusseldorf, so was up at the crack of dawn, which meant no sleep for either of us. Never a good start to the day. My journey to work was hideous, which saw me in an even bigger mood and it's that time of the month, so I just feel like crying at ridiculous things, like Glee. (Maybe I shouldn't be admitting that)

I had the day planned from a food perspective, left over bubble and squeak for breakfast, a Tesco Healthy Living pasta dish for lunch (although for 12 points, I'll be making my own in future), lots of fruit and then off to a friends house post work, where she had promised me Jamie Oliver's amazing 30 minute Steak Sandwich - points duly saved.

However, best laid plans don't always come off, my friend ended up with a work crisis and had to cancel, which threw me off completely. Our fridge is currently housing an assortment of slightly limp vegetables, a shed load of condiments, and other every day essentials, like wine and I am refusing to spend more money on food (with the exception of the Veg box and milk) while we try to deplete our current stores.

After much opening of cupboards, rifling through the freezer and a few moments of working out why the heck we have 5 different types of mustard, I settled on rice, stir fried with courgette, pak choi, onion, broccoli, mushrooms and King Prawns (prawns courtesy of the ever depleting freezer) with a bit of curry sauce. It would have been a perfectly delicious meal on any other occasion - but I had that bloody steak sarnie in my head and nothing was going to come close. So I then had myself a slice of buttered toast with blackcurrant jam (still within points of course) to compensate. I didn't need that bloody toast, in fact I didn't really need to compensate as my meal was perfectly lovely, I just felt like I should have a treat. Why I feel my treats have to be food shaped, is something I need to change.

I thought then I'd have myself a bath, listen to some music and relax and then an early night, duly filled the bath with bubbles and stepped in - to almost hit the ceiling due to shock. I'd filled the whole blooming thing with freezing cold water. Bath abandoned, I went to bed in a huff.

So, despite calls from work at 2am (7 of them and I am not even on call this week), I am in a much better mood today. I've had the last of the Bubble & Squeak for breakfast, I've 2 plums sat here wanting me to consume them and lunch will be soup. I'm off to visit another friend tonight, but won't be staying too long, so not sure what will happen with dinner, but I will make sure I have enough points for the unexpected.

Baby steps.

Grrrr

Half a flipping measly pound off. I know it's better than nothing, but seriously, gah!

Ok, sensible head now. I've missed 2 weigh ins and I wasn't exactly saintly, so maybe I've had a good week and the last 2 weeks put even more on. Who knows?

Anyway, it won't derail me. I want a good result next week!

Yesterday's eats

Bit of a random day yesterday. I felt like I needed to keep an eye on things after the weekend excesses, but I perhaps went a bit too far with that and ended up hugely under points.

Breakfast - 0PP

An apple and a plum. This wasn't my planned breakfast, but cleverly that was still sat on the kitchen work surface. Fortunately I remembered my fruit!

Lunch 9 PP

Left over lasagne. I made a huge lasagne on Sunday night which contained a shed load of veggies (beetroot, carrots, cabbage, courgette, onions and tomatoes - random, but tasty and a good way of getting my veg in!). I don't use fat in the white sauce - just skimmed milk and sauce flour and a bit of mustard, so with extra lean mince and reduced fat cheese on top, it doesn't work out too bad per portion. This was lovely!

Dinner - 12PP

I popped to see a friend after work who has just had a baby, so I couldn't really expect her to feed me - especially given she has a 3 year old to look after too. I grabbed a Sushi Pack from Sainsbury's (9) and a packet of Walkers (3). Probably not the healthiest of choices but it filled me up fairly well.

I had a couple of custard creams at my mate's house with a cuppa, but that still saw me fairly under my points for the day at 24/41. That has to be a first.

I don't really now how/if that will affect me, but common sense tells me it should help counterbalance the weekend a little bit. Anyway, I guess I will find out tonight. Fingers crossed - I am even wearing a skirt for lighteness purposes to avoid the extra pounds jeans can add... I may resort to removing my underwear later too... :)
