Back to normal

7 hours sleep last night and I feel like a new woman today. How very odd I am. After last nights large rant I was much more serene. The tennis nearly finished me off however, I don't normally get so over excited over such things. Must be the heat.

Supposed to do Day 2 of Running made Easy today, but I am without car. Being a lovely girlfriend I lent mine to Matt while his is being serviced. Its only 20 mins on the train for me to get to work and loads more for him. Means I can't get to the gym tonight, but I guess I can always try running outdoors... now there's a thought. However, I am not sure my massive bulk will cope with these sweltering temperatures if I attempt to run. I was sporting a nice sweat moustache on my leisurely walk from the station this morning so its likely running for 16 minutes could see me spark out. Anyway, I can assess that later.

WI tomorrow and once again I am not confident, I feel bloated today but I've already done a litre of water so I'll try and flush everything out. 1 pound off will do me, thats all I ask please oh body of mine.

Rant

My mood has not improved as the day has progressed so I am just going to have myself a little rant and hopefully that will assist! Only the 3 things I need to get off my considerable chest this evening and then all will be fine....
  1. People presuming I am stupid because I am blonde and female and I have boobs
  2. People unable to clarify exactly what they are asking for
  3. Lack of swim etiquette

Rant 1

Ok so I work in a team of men, I work in a fairly technical role and obviously I don't look like your average IT geek. However, I am good at my job and I am not stupid and I can read instructions. Please don't presume that if something has gone wrong "Lindsey has messed something up". Grrrrrrrrr. 3 times today I have been asked to do something by various people that hasn't worked out how they expected it would. In every instance an email was sent saying something along the lines of "I think Lindsey forgot to execute the script" or "I think Lindsey has installed this code incorrectly". Well actually fellas - in every instance you were the ones who cocked up!!! Not me. So please gents, please don't just presume that the girl is always the weakest link. Harumph.

Rant 2

I had a request to do something today and it literally made no sense. So I asked for clarification with a number of questions which would have clarified the situation for me. What did I get in response - a cut and paste of the original non-sensical request. FFS - if it made no sense the first time, how the hell will repeating the exact same thing to me help?? I don't have time to try and decipher what it is you want me to do so just flipping well tell me in a language that makes sense to me!!

Rant 3

I thought a little swim after work would be lovely since the pool is outdoors and its a lovely night. I got there fairly early and the pool was pretty empty so I hopped in a lane and proceeded to swim up and down quite happily with the lane to myself. However, the pool soon got very busy and at one point there were 9 of us - yes 9, trying to swim in the same lane. Come on people - I know we all have the right to swim - but surely a bit of common sense here wouldn't go amiss?? Its a lovely night, there are sun loungers by the pool so have a little sit down and wait for someone to get out maybe? We ended up with a massive swim jam - no one could actually swim a full length so what the heck was the point in that?? I was punched and kicked and splashed and in the end I gave up after 20 mins and sat in the jacuzzi. Harumph.

Right then, thats much better. The steam is no longer coming out of my ears. I am famished so I had better go and make myself some healthy treats.

TTFN

Overslept

Hmmmm, is it possible that too much sleep can put you in a bad mood?? My alarm went off at 0645 this morning, I thought I'll have another minute - next thing I knew it was 0810. Not ideal since I normally start work for 8. I am in a strange mood today, feel like I could snap for no reason whatsoever. I was in bed by 10pm last night because I was bored senseless - the TV on a Sunday night really is apalling - so 10 hours sleep effectively and I feel utterly pants for it!

Yesterday didn't end up being as low pointed as I had planned. My meals were good, but I kept snacking. I did my first day of Running Made Easy and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I was sweating by the end, but not my usual beetroot mess. Also did some weights to try and tone up the bingo wings, as a result my arms are now not functioning as the should be. Everything is painful. Anyway, had a bit of wait getting back from the gym until dinner was ready so I had a few marmite biscuits (no cheese this time) a bowl of pickled onions and half a packet of crisps. Idiot. Dinner was also polished down with a bottle of Magners light. Ah well, could have been worse I guess.

Anyway, I saved 2 points yesterday, plus the 3 from my stint in the gym. My points tracker is still showing a credit of points for the week. Not entirely sure that is right.

Fingers crossed for Wednesday, I am 1 measley pound away from the next stone down... I can almost feel it! Also going to Wembley to see Take That on Wednesday night. I was never a massive fan of theirs, but should be a good night out anyway. So all in all, Wednesday could be a good day!

I can't stop thinking about food today. Its not boredom as I've got loads of work to do (thats another gripe but I'll save that for later) so I might have to take myself off for a wander.

Right then, nearly lunch time so I'll be off.

Saturday splurge

Hmmm, well yesterday didn't go overly well on the points front - not that I have really been able to point it too accurately, but actually I am not too fussed. I'd banked some points anyway and have done some exercise this week so I am hoping I'll be ok. Plus as I keep trying to remind myself - this is a lifestyle change not a diet and sometime things will just get in the way!

We went to Henley for the day since it was lovely and sunny - its only about 8 miles from us so its not exactly a trek! We did a lot of walking and I earnt 5 BPS according to my random WW pedometer. Watched the rugby in the worlds busiest pub - i.e. the only one in Henley showing it. The place was full of rower types since the Regatta starts this week - gave me plenty to look at while Matt was engrossed in the rugby ;)

We ended up having a late lunch in a gorgeous tapas place - resisted the Vina Sol and stuck to diet coke, but.... no clue how to even begin pointing this:

2 slice of sun dried tomato bread with red pepper dip
1/2 portion of Lamb in Mustard and Red Wine Sauce
1/2 portion of Chicken Croquettes
1/2 portion Pork in Spicy Sweet and Sour Sauce
1/2 portion of Crispy Fried Cheese
1/2 portion of Mushroom Stuffed Red Peppers

I've estimated about 16 points but I could be miles out! Anyway, it was lovely and I was pleasantly stuffed. Only had a few marmite biscuits (oh and some roquefort... oooops) later on.

Low pointed day today I think. It's a lovely day so I am off to start day one of running made easy - which will not be even slightly easy :) Then heading to the pool for a bit of a swim and a lounge around. I hate how quickly the weekends go.

Matt is actually cooking breakfast at the moment, I had better go and check he knows the difference between the oven and the dishwasher.

9.5 inches :)

Just took my measurements to see how much of a difference 6 weeks can make..

16th May

Thighs = 33 inches
Chest = 47 inches
Waist = 39.5 inches
Hips = 50 inches
Arm = 14.5 inches

Today

Thigh = 31.5
Chest = 44
Waist = 39
Hips = 50
Arm = 13

So in total thats 9.5 inches gone. Shame my blooming hips don't appear to be budging!

I don't think I'll be making it to Wimbledon..

Can I just say, playing tennis when its scorching hot is not a winner when you are carrying the equivalent of your best mate around in extra weight! But still, off we toddled to the Tennis Courts and as much as I can't believe I am saying this - I actually enjoyed it! My first few hits of the ball were utterly ridiculous - Poor Matt was running around like a loony trying to return my wild shots, but once I got into the swing of it I was actually not too bad. Even if I do say so myself. Maybe that tennis holiday at 14 actually paid off :)

We played for about 45 mins and I was sweating like the proverbial, but I really think its something I could get quite into. My shoulder is killing me today, I still suffer the after effects of the torn rotator cuff, but I guess that will get better with time. I did have a wobbly moment when a couple turned up, all kitted out in full on tennis gear, sun visors, sweat bands etc and got onto the court next to us, I was expecting to feel utterly humilated at my complete lack of ability - but actually - they were worse than us! Oh how I smiled when I had to keep returning their balls... just goes to show, things are not always how they seem.

We stopped off at the pub afterwards for a pint of Lime and Soda and we were both really trying hard to ignore the massive picture of the "Ultimate Burger" in the beer garden!! I was literally salivating looking at it - you can imagine how attractive I looked, red, sweaty and dribbling! Fortunately we had some Tesco Light Choices Quarter Pounders in the freezer. Flipping heck - how nice are they?? Only 3 points each, topped with 30g of Les Kol and popped in a WW Pitta with Onions and Salad - Hey presto, our own Ultimate Burger for 6 points. Had that with 2.5 points of Oven Chips and it was heavenly. Oh I am good.

Was meant to go spinning this morning, but I had to do some work at 6am - so clearly my motivation was then out of the window. I will finish at 3pm today though so I am going straight to the gym. Fact. My running made easy book arrived yesterday, and I actually think this is something I am going to give a serious go. I often have dreams (wierd I know) where I am running really easily around a track and I love it... so maybe its meant to be... Ha ha ha. Anyway, week 1 involves running (they say anything speedier than your normal walking pace classfies as running) for 1 minute, followed by 3 mins of walking and repeat 4 times. I might start off on the treadmill at the gym so I can get a good idea of what I am actually capable of. I am sure I'll be a panting like a sweaty mess by the end of it but I guess thats the idea.

No major plans for the weekend so I have no reason to stray off the WW track.

All in all, I am feeling pretty damn pleased with myself so far. Long may it continue.

dress and pizza

So, the dress fits - in fact its loose! I am sending it back today for the smaller size - happy I'm not as fat as I thought, but slightly frustrated its costing me an extra £10 in postage to get a smaller dress. Ho hum. Plus, I am going to have to do battle with the post office queue in Bracknell - why do all those people who can go at any time of the day feel the need to go at lunch time?? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Powerplate last night was a killer, I am struggling to walk today which I guess is a good sign. Note to self - must remember to take deodorant with me next time I do PP and then go straight out afterwards... Not good!! Had a lovely Leggera Pizza in Pizza Express, a bargain at 8.5 points. Well done Pizza Express.

Slept brilliantly last night with the help of some melatonin, first good nights sleep I've had in approximately 10 years. Ok so I exaggerate slightly, but its felt like that long. Headache has also gone. There's a lot to be said for sleep it seems.

We've a pub lunch today at work so I'll try and stick to a jacket spud or some form of salad. For some ridiculous reason (perhaps its the Wimbledon effect) I've agreed to play tennis with Matt tonight. I am sure he has no idea what he has let himself in for. Last time I picked up a racquet was on my 3rd Year tennis holiday to Majorca... I think I was 14 at the time and it was also the first time I ever got drunk and started to chase the 4th year boys. You can imagine my standard of tennis on that holiday - can't say its improved since.

Ooooh my dress

has arrived.... I can't try it on til later as I am out tonight, but I am hoping it'll be a little tight so I can slim into it.

If its too big, I'll be both over the moon and somewhat frustrated that I need to send it back. Hmmmm, here's hoping its on the tight side to motivate me more! If it fits already, I guess I can always get it taken in as I doubt I can drop another dress size in 10 weeks....

Anyway, I should probably stop all this concern until I have actually tried the bloody thing on!

Dancing round the office

Oh my flipping heck, I lost 5 lbs this week! Woooooohoooooooooo. So thats my 5% target met, another silver seven and only 1 pound to go to get me into the 18s... Not that being 18 stone something is an achievement, but compared to where I was its not too bad.

I was full of self pity last night, had to go home from work at lunch time with a migraine which had me bed bound all afternoon. Matt is away again so I had no one to moan to and then having slept all afternoon, I woke up every hour practically on the dot during the night. Good times...

Still, despite the lingering headache and extreme tiredness, I am now in a happy mood thanks to a good result at the scales. How fickle I am.

Out tonight with a couple of girls I used to work with so going to squeeze a Powerplate session in beforehand as I won't make spinning. I've already booked myself in for spin on Friday morning (madness I know) so hopefully this will be another good week.

Right, I am off to do a little dance around the office and eat some breakfast!

WI worries and wedding outfits

Hmmmm, not sure why I am worrying myself already, WI isn't til Wednesday, but I've already got that sinking feeling when I think of stepping on the scales. I've been almost saintly with the exception of Friday night, which I think I've already made up for.... So whats the trauma?? I think my uneasy feeling is down to lack of WI last week and the unexpected gain the week before. I am not sure I can cope with the scales being stubborn this week. Its TOTM so I am liable to be a proper girl and get all emotional if things don't go my way!

Oh well, no point worrying before I actually have the trauma! Typical me.

Decided to do a bit of Wii fit yesterday, only to find the batteries had gone on both the board and in the remotes (that's how long its been since I last did it!) so I did a bit of half hearted Wii Sports - boxing, tennis and bowling after removing a couple of batteries from the TV remote... I had a very lazy day on Saturday, but it was much needed.

Yesterday was pretty much the same, although I took the plunge and ordered my dress for my friends wedding which is the day before we go on holiday. I don't think it will fit me yet, but I've got just under 11 weeks to make sure it does.

I don't think there is a lot of room for manoeuvre with this - so I have to be saintly!

Can't believe its Monday already :(

Food for today:

B: 2 x toast with Lurpak Lighter
L: Chilli Beef Salad + Packet of Monster Munch
D: Some sort of Roast Veg and Chicken Thigh concoction which I am yet to finalise. Could be a disaster!
S: WW Coconut Whip Bar, Apple

That leaves me 7 points to play with.... I sometimes feel like I am eating for the sake of it, but I am already at 27 saved points this week (mainly BPs) and my worrying head is telling me not to starve myself... ha ha ha, yeah right! I am sure I can force a few more down my neck before I leave work.

Going to try and make the gym tonight - no excuses not to, other than laziness!

Right then, back to the grind. Only 3 hours til hometime!

Mojitos

Feeling ever so slighty hungover and lethargic today. Had a great night out with the girls, far too many mojitos and some dim sum (no clue how to point that!!) and a fair few vodka tonics. We ended up in some club in Soho which resembled a grannies living room... the ceiling was even carpeted!! It was literally the size of a living room and full of chintz. Good music though and a fair few throwbacks to my uni days, I did a bit of dancing and clocked up 6 BPs on the Pedometer. Result. I was somewhat incapacitated by new shoes however, which did their level best to slice off my toes - how can something so cute looking cause me such misery??I even wore a dress last night - with a pair of leggings mind you, but a dress all the same. I don't know what's come over me!

Stayed at my mate's last night, which just reminds me I forgot to point the slice of peanut butter and toast I had when we got in... She cooked us breakfast on the BBQ this morning so I had a sausage, egg and bacon sarnie - not overly good points wise but much needed.

Got home around lunch time and had a little nap - well when I say little it ended up being 2.5 hours. Matt's away this weeked so got the flat to myself which is probably a good thing today! Just going to veg on the sofa tonight with a massive bowl of cheesey pasta bake and watch rubbish tv. Lovely. I think attempting anything else could be dangerous. I've already managed to burn myself, embed glass in my thumb and slip over in the bath. Me, a liability???

Right, lets hope I don't do myself anymore damage between now and bed time.

What you can do with a bag of spinach, half a leek and an onion

is make a very green no point soup! Looks like a bowl of slime but its actually very tasty.... honest :)

Thats the downside of exercising this morning, I've been ravenous all day. I've had 2 litres of water in an attempt to get rid of the belly rumbles but my pitta for lunch didn't even touch the sides so I had to get creative - not something I am normally very good at. We've not got much in the fridge so I bunged what we did have in an pan, added some garlic salt and stock and whizzed it all up. Hey Presto - hopefully the end to rumble tum. Plus its got to be good for me with that sort of greeness :)

Nigella eat your heart out.

Woman on a mission!

Wait for it.... I have been spinning this morning! Yes that's correct, I actually dragged my backside out of bed at 0630 this morning to go to a 0700 spin class. Get me! It wasn't actually as hard as I thought it would be, although I was sweating profusely and my legs seemed to lose all coordination the minute I stepped off the bike but I did it!

I'm now feeling strangely smug. I'm working from home today which is a blessing as I still resemble an overripe tomato but at least I can go out tonight and enjoy myself safe in the knowledge that I have earnt 10 Bonus Points already.

Wooohooo.

I am blooming knackered now like, I might need a lunchtime snooze :)

Heading into London tonight to meet the girls, really looking forward to it as its been a while since we all got together. Another friend is also down from Newcastle for work so she's going to meet us too. We're off to Ping Pong for Dim Sum so I can probably indulge in a few dumplings that resemble alien life forms. I might even treat myself to a few cheeky cocktails. Woah girl!

Right, I had better actually get on with work since that's what I actually supposed to be doing.

Happy Friday all.

Spinning hurts

I'd forgotten how much it pains me! Class was really hard last night since its been about 2 weeks since I was last there, but I did the whole class and I was a right a lovely shade of beetroot by the end and very sweaty - lovely. My new padded shorts don't seem to offer that much comfort other than the feeling of wearing a very large nappy and cutting off my circulation given that XXXL is approximately a size 16 - which I am clearly not.

I really want to be fitter - not less because we live at the top of a hill and it kills me everytime I walk up the blooming thing.

Actually from that picture it hardly looks like a hill at all, but I am always out of breath by the time I get to the top.

Managed to resist the pub last night after spinning - mainly because I'd forgotten my towel at the gym and I really couldn't inflict my minging state on anyone, plus I'd been 'persuaded' (not that it takes much) to go to the pub for lunch yesterday. Anyway, still came in under points for the day so yay to me.

Today is once again all planned - rather random breakfast which was meant to be yesterdays lunch (pitta with falafel and houmous), left over lasagne for lunch and then reduced fat Kiev and Rustic Fries for dinner with salad. I'm a planning machine at the moment. Leaves me 9 points for snacks so I'll definitely be trying to save at least 4 for tomorrow nights booziness.

Bottled it....

Bad I know, but I cannot face WI this morning. I have been feeling so positive of late and I know another gain would set me right back so I am going to focus on being saintly for the next 7 days and pray that it pays dividends next Wednesday. Here's hoping!

I am spinning tonight for the first time in a couple of weeks so thats going to hurt me muchly, but it can be my punishment for wimping out of WI! Today is all planned, breakfast of crumpets, lunch of pitta bread with mini falafel, reduced fat houmous and salad, snacks from my graze box and I've made a WW friendly lasagne for tea. That still leaves me 9 points to play with so its a good start! Its only 11 weeks til my holiday and I NEED to lose at least a stone by then so no more fannying about.

I've woken up with my shoulder feeling like I've been top spin bowling in my sleep, I had physio on Monday and I seem to be in more pain than normal. Not sure thats how its meant to work? Ho hum. I am sporting the scent of Deep Heat right now (well aloe heat cream but it smells the same) which is not overly attractive. Might keep those dratted mosquitoes away from me anyhoo.

No excuses this week, am out on Friday with the girls, but I will stick to Vodka and Slimline and I will make sure I have a good few points saved up until then. Other than that there is absolutely nothing that should get in the way. If I write all this down, I might actually believe it :)

Right then, I am off for my second litre of water. Polish that halo lady...........

Weekend away

How very depressing to be back at work. Had Thursday and Friday off and went to Bath and Bristol for the weekend. Had such a lovely time, but I think the diet may well have suffered! I didn't stuff my face in my usual manner, but I really wasn't overly good at pointing. I am going to try and remember most of the stuff that passed my lips and point it all up this morning... once I have trawled through the hundreds of emails I've had after 2 days off.

I guess my saving grace over the past 4 days has been the amount of walking we did - according to my dodgy WW pedometer I clocked up 41.5 bonus points, but I'm reckoning this has to be wrong and is likely to be about half of that... still its better than nothing. I didn't drink masses of wine as would be the norm and stuck to Vodka and slimline and I tried to avoid chips and pasties wherever possible!

I am almost tempted to give WI a swerve this week after my gain last week, I am slightly worried another gain will send me on a downwards spiral... anyway, we'll see how I feel after a couple of days being back on track.

Last night I seem to have been a 4 course meal for some hideous little mosquito, I am going to have to spend most of today trying not to scratch myself silly. Blooming evil creatures!

Tonight is my last night out of 12 in a row, I am very much looking forward to getting back into a routine and being able to get back to the gym. Something I never thought I'd say!

Right, had better get on with the task of reading through my emails in case I missed something massively interesting while I was away.... how long til my next holiday???

Wednesday, 10 June 2009

Bah!

1.5lbs on... I wasn't expecting good things but I wasn't expecting a gain. Harumph, I guess I had better try and work out what went wrong this week. Bodies can be so flipping annoying at times! And I was only a pound off another shiny silver seven..... Huff.

Oh well, I'll dust myself off and get back on with the matter at hand..... a day off pointing religiously for my birthday!

Off to the pub for lunch and then we are out for dinner tonight, I'll still try to make good choices but I won't be too obsessive. Back on track tomorrow.

We're away for the weekend so I am going to struggle to be saintly, but I'll do the best I can!

Happy Birthday to me!

And I feel old! That's most probably due to total lack of sleep however and not the fact I have reached the grand old age of 33. Six nights out in a row so far, plus a 6am start at work yesterday and I am feeling it! I'm not as young as I used to be :)

My desk at work this morning....

Had some lovely presents and a little birthday cup cake complete with singing candle... obviously I'll be saving that til after WI. Got a new charm from Matt for my Sweetie bracelet in the form of an engagement ring - he said I kept on about wanting rock, funny bugger!! Still, its well nice, plus he got me some diamond earrings and a pamper day at a spa. Bless him.

Went to Pizza Express with the girls last night and had one of the Leggera Pizzas, very nice and only 8.5 points. I felt almost virtuous. The girls all said they thought I had lost weight, which was lovely :)

WI at 10am - once again I am not overly confident of a loss. Exercise has been almost zero except for a powerplate session last night, OH MY GOD, that hurt. Its been about 6 weeks since I was last there after the ankle injury and blimey could I notice it. Its slightly painful to move today.

Anyway, I am rambling. I'll report my fate after WI later.

Weekend excess

As usual, I managed to completely blow it at the weekend. Went up North to visit my parents, bless my mam, she'd cooked a veritable WW feast on Friday for when we arrived so I managed to bank 4 points. Saturday was the trauma..... Had a cooked breakfast, relatively healthy and then salad for lunch. We went out to an Italian for a meal on Saturday night and I made really good choices - Melon and Parma Ham for starter and then chicken Milanese (breaded chicken) but I asked for Salad and no chips... check me.

I think it all went wrong when the wine started to flow.... I tried to work out my points on Sunday but I stopped when I hit 50..... My exercise has been minimal as well this week since I've been out every flipping day. Ah well, I had saved 12 points and had some walking BPs so hopefully not too much damage done.

Had a lovely roast dinner yesterday before heading back to the aiport for our flight to LHR. I ordered a skinny latte while we waited for our flight and I am pretty sure there was nothing skinny about it. Within about 2 minutes of finishing it, I was running to the toilet to well - bring it back up. Sorry - TMI! It was soooo sickly and minging sitting in my stomach that it actually made me physically sick. A lesson learnt there.

Oh well, 2 more days until WI so fingers crossed I can be saintly. Off to a friends tonight for a bit of a soiree, she is doing Pizza's so I am going to take my own WW version so I don't feel like I am missing out!

Right, am off for a stomp around the high street now to try and get the pedometer moving.

Wardrobe Malfunction

OMG, it could have been so much worse! I was wearing a pair of linen trousers yesterday (was told we were meeting customers so I had to be smart!) and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were actually baggy on me - as opposed to last time I wore them when they were somewhat restrictive.... Anyway, last night I met Matt in the pub after work for a couple of Lime and Sodas and we decided to have our Wednesday Chinese.

Much umming and aaahing ensued given that Matt is now a point watcher and was trying to weigh up the benefits of 2 pints of strong lager against Sweet and Sour ChickenBalls... Anyway, I digress.... After collecting said Chinese and getting back into his car, I sort of shuffled my non too tiny derriere to get properly into the seat..... and the whole bum of my trousers ripped - and I mean the whole lot from the waistband at the back to somewhere under my nether regions!

Good lord, It could have been an absolute disaster had I performed the same shuffle in my chair at work! I would have had to sit down all day until everyone had left the building. Fortunately when we got home I was able to shimmy (no mean feat at my size) into the flat without any of the neighbours getting an eyeful!

Needless to say, I am back in my jeans today. I feel somewhat safer.

I'm out tonight with some of my old work colleagues so I have 15 points for dinner - I'm driving so no booze will pass my lips and am hoping I can be relatively good.

Didn't go spinning last night as the class was full when I tried to book - however my mate now tells me that there were loads of places as people didn't turn up. VERY ANNOYING! My exercise this week is going to be pretty pants.

Ah well, I'll just have to be as saintly as I can the rest of the time. Fingers crossed.

Another 4 bite the dust

Get blooming well in!! Not a clue how, but I lost another 4lbs this week. I wasn't overly confident of a loss, but then I never am. My leader asked me what I'd done differently this week and my only thought was "I drank half a bottle of bacardi" I am not entirely sure WW advocates that as a good tool for weight loss however!

Went to the gym last night, managed 20 mins on the tread walker which knackers me out, its kind of like a treadmill but there are 2 platforms you stand on which move up and down as you walk, sort of scissor like..... clearly I'm not explaining that at all well! Anyway, it claims its twice as effective as the treadmill so you gotta love it. I also did 20 mins fast walking on the treadmill whilst I watched Come Dine With Me. I seem to have gotten into the habit of watching cookery shows while I bust a gut on the gym. Still it spurs me on I guess.

Made fish pie for dinner last night which I was massively dubious about since I am not a large fan of our fishy friends unless they are deep fried in batter. It was suprisingly tasty and a mahoosive portion for 7 points. Even Matt the fish hater loved it. He is cracking me up asking about the points values of everything at the moment. He seems quite taken with the WW way of life.

So, from tomorrow I am facing 12 nights in a row of not being in control of what I eat (i.e. me not actually cooking it), which also means I'll be struggling to fit in any exercise. Gulp. Why on earth did I plan so many things in a row?? Stupid girl. Anyway, I think I'll be making copious amounts of No Point Soup and salads so my evenings are less of a trauma. I might even try and get to the gym before work......... Ha ha ha, what a ridiculous thought!

Normal service is resumed

Bad mood is gone thankfully, I was a horror yesterday. Must've been the lack of sleep. I'm still not confident I will lose this week, but its not the end of the world. It took me years to get this fat so its not going to fall off that quickly either. I just need to stop beating myself up over every minor blip.

Watched that "10 things you need to know about losing weight last night" and it was really interesting. I am following one of the theories this morning by having an egg sarnie for breakfast - apparently protein makes you fuller for longer.... although I am not sure hunger is my problem, its more greed!!

Thursday onwards is going to be difficult diet wise, am out Thursday night and then home at my parents for the weekend, and then I have managed to plan things every night from Monday 8th - Monday 15th June. Not very clever. I am exhausted thinking about it! Oh well, I'll just have to deal with it as best I can. Was hoping we'd have nice weather so we can go out for walks since I'll not get to the gym, but the forecast is typically gloomy.

Right, food is calling and I suppose I had better do some work x

I'm never in a bad mood...

...apart from today! There is no real reason for me to be moody (other than that usual Monday feeling), the sun is shining, life is generally good, but I just feel proper mardy today. Bah Humbug at me. I think I am pretty disappointed in myself for my weekend excesses. I ended up over points again yesterday - only a couple, but that was down to another bad lunch which left me starving about 3 hours later. I did my 30 mins of swimming and tried to stomp around a fair bit but I only made it to 1 BP on the pedometer. I think the sudden realisation that this is forever has hit me and I will constantly spend my life worrying about what I can eat, how much exercise I need to do etc etc etc if I am ever going to be a normal weight. I didn't sleep at all last night either so that's probably not helping. Grrrr, I hate moody me.

On the plus side, Matt signed up for WW online last night. He wants to lose 2 stone (no clue from where) and he's been half heartedly trying for a few months. He thought he'd had a pretty good day yesterday but when he worked out everything he'd eaten he was at 54 points - he's allowed 30! So hopefully with both of us at it we might make better choices.

Right, I am off to console myself with an ELF and pesto sandwich and a bottle of Dr Pepper Zero. Rock and roll.
